CYUT ranks first again in the CommonWealth USR Rankings
Environmental sustainability has always been the USR (University Social Responsibility) emphasis of CYUT. This year, CYUT listed first again among private technological universities in the CommonWealth USR University Citizen Rankings 2021, continuing its lead. The rankings assessed universities’ performances in USR through 42 indicators in 4 perspectives, including university governance, social engagement, teaching commitment, and sustainable environment.
CYUT demonstrates its commitment to bringing transformation, innovation and sustainability to the community through different collaboration projects. With the help from the Department of Industrial Design, farmers of Dacun Township Changhua successfully converted abandoned grapevine into biochar for developing eco-friendly products like biochar soaps, plants, etc. The black soybeans of Youcai Village of Baozhong Township Yunlin have become famous in these few years because of the healthy agricultural environment and quality certification. It owes much to the effort of the Department of Applied Chemistry. “Kinderelder” is a new elderly care model created by the Department of Golden-Ager Industry Management in reducing the social burden of elderly care with innovative use of community resources.
