● “Let bygones be bygones.” 讓過去的(不愉快)過去;既往不咎
E.g. Why can’t you put all that bad feeling behind you and let bygones be bygones?
你為何就不能將所有的不愉快拋諸腦後,讓過去的事隨風而逝呢?
● “look like a million dollars” 外表看起來很棒
E.g. You look like a million dollars in that dress.
妳穿那件洋裝看起來棒極了。
● “pig out” 大吃大喝;飽餐一頓
E.g. An all-you-can-eat buffet is a good place to go if you like to pig out.
如果你喜歡大吃一頓,吃到飽的自助式餐廳會是個好去處。
● “clock in” (打卡)開始上班
E.g. Even though we’re expected to clock in at 8:30 a.m., we usually get to work around 8:45.
