“Actions speak louder than words.” 行動勝於空談
行動比語言更響亮。換句話說，採取行動要比高談闊論好。
E.g. We have heard what you said, but actions speak louder than words.
你所說的，我們都聽到了。但是行動要比空談好。
“What is done cannot be undone.” 覆水難收
做過的事，不能再還原。這與另一句諺語 “Don’t cry over spilt milk” 意義相似。
E.g. It is no use for you to worry about this; what is done cannot be undone.
為此苦惱沒有用；做過的事不能再還原。
“What goes around comes around.” 風水輪流轉，因果報應
你的所作所為，是會得到報應的。而這裡的報應，通常指的都是惡報。
E.g. Do something good for others; what goes around comes around.
做些好事吧! 對他人所作所為，會有報應的！
“Bad news travels fast.” 壞事傳千里
壞消息，傳得快。
E.g. You should be careful of what you say, because bad news travels fast.
你說話要小心，因為壞事傳千里。
